I was pretty pissed when I got some gold-chainer Hot Rod magazine filled with a bunch of hard parking show cars as a crappy replacement.

Show me the evidence of guys in built Corvettes killing innocent people in street races and I will immediately recant my ways and sing your praises from the highest mountaintops.

Street racing is dumb. We all know it. But in my experience it’s usually the kids in their haggard DSMs, backyard boosted Civics, and shop class exhaust Mustangs who do the real damage, and it’s nearly universally the drivers who end up dead.

I do not condone street racing in any form, but it is most definitely the most exciting form of motorsports I am aware of. Danger is fun to a lot of people who are willing to take the risk. It’s not safe, which is precisely why it is exciting.

Collateral damage is a part of every motorsport. Just look at the assholes who run out in the middle of rally stages to snap pictures, or the spectators injured by debris at NASCAR events.

I absolutely admit that street racing can endanger the lives of innocent bystanders, but just like any hazardous undertaking, it can be practiced responsibly.

I like Hot Rod, but you’re not wrong. I like their more recent low budget builds with more of a focus on bang for your buck mods.

Yeah, I had really wanted to get a better feature of the car after everything is said and done, but they were absolved along with High Performance Pontiac and a few others.

Oh well, I at least got into their Street Heat section with my car in bolt-ons level...
